Man Arrested For Stabbing Wife To Death In Front Of Their Son, 9, After Criticising Her Cooking

A man who stabbed his beautiful wife to death in front of their nine-year-old son when she gave him a meal that he did not like has been found dead in his prison cell following his arrest.

Paulo Roberto Noli, 33, was arrested for repeatedly stabbing his wife, 31-year-old Roselaine Modollo Noli, at their home in the Brazilian municipality of Matao on the night of 6th May.

The police were called to the scene after receiving a complaint of domestic violence and found Roselaine’s body lying in a pool of blood in the garden with at least eight stab wounds.

Paramedics were called to the scene. However, the victim had already succumbed to her wounds by the time they arrived.

When the police arrived at the couple’s house, the suspect had already fled in his car. Officers later managed to track down his vehicle around 3 kilometres (1.9 miles) away.

They also recovered the knife, which was reportedly broken in three parts, at the scene of the crime.

The suspect handed himself in at a police station and was taken to prison in the municipality of Taiuva after giving testimony.

According to the police, the couple’s son, aged 9, witnessed the murder. He has since been taken into care.

The suspect was found dead in his prison cell, where he was in solitary confinement due to COVID-19 regulations, on the morning of 8th May.

According to local news site RCIA Araraquara, there are two conflicting versions of the man’s death.

According to one version, he suffered a cardiac arrest. However, according to another, he was found hanged. His body has been taken for autopsy.

News site ACidade ON Araraquara reports that the suspect had confessed to the police that he killed his wife during a row “over dinner” because he was unhappy about the food that she had made – though it was not revealed what his complaint was.
