This is the moment a man has a lucky escape when falling blocks of masonry miss him by millimetres but pummel a van about to park in the street.

The incident took place in the neighbourhood of Ismet Kaptan in the district of Cankaya in the western Turkish province of Izmir at around 9am on 29th November.

Huge blocks fell from the third-floor balcony of an old hotel that was closed for renovation after heavy storms weakened the structure, according to local reports.
