Man In Japan Snaps Moment Bird Grabbed His Sandwich With Talons

This pic captures the moment a man is about to snap a panoramic scene of an ornamental gate on a Japanese island – only to be photo bombed by a bird that swoops into the picture to steal his sandwich.

The image shows the bird’s clawed foot clearly on the man’s sandwich while he was busy taking the picture, and it looks as if he possibly pressed the button a bit soon in surprise when the huge bird of prey suddenly appeared in front of him.

The incident took place on the Japanese island of Miyajima, which is also known as Itsukushima, which is located in Hiroshima Bay in western Japan.

The island is a well-known tourist hotspot and has a large population of deer that roam around the island freely.

The deer are known to chase after tourists and attempt to get food out of them, and the man was keen to have some peace and quiet when he ate the sandwich, reportedly a ‘Koppe pan’, which is a sandwich made with an oblong-shaped white bread that is not dissimilar to an American hot dog bun.

He later shared the picture on his Twitter account under the name ‘makooota’ saying that he had reportedly found a quiet spot to have his sandwich where the deer would not steal it.

But unfortunately, he had not decided to look to the skies for other threats.

He said that his sandwich was taken by a black kite, which is a bird of prey.

He added that, to add insult to injury, the bird did not even make a clean getaway with his sandwich, dropping it instead on the ground almost as soon as it had stolen it.
