This is the moment a lorry driver swerves to avoid a brazen pedicab that cut in front of him and smashes off a bridge into a river as the smaller vehicle casually drives away as if nothing happened.

The dramatic crash was captured on CCTV in the city of Wenzhou, which is in East China’s Zhejiang Province.

The footage shows the pedicab driver, who is yet to be named, racing out of a side street and merging onto the thoroughfare without stopping on 29th August.

The small pedicab cuts in front of the heavy goods vehicle, whose driver is forced to swerve suddenly to the right in order to avoid a serious crash.

However, in doing so he rear-ends a second pedicab – flipping it over – before slamming into the side of the bridge.

The video shows the entire lorry careering off the structure and plunging about 30 feet into the river below.

As the clip ends, the pedicab driver who allegedly caused the crash can be seen casually riding off without stopping.

According to reports, the lorry driver survived the crash and was pulled from his cabin by rescuers shortly after.

He and the occupants of the pedicab he unintentionally rear-ended were taken to a hospital for treatment.

None is in any life-threatening condition.

The crash is still being investigated, with Wenzhou police yet to announce whether the pedicab driver was found or arrested.
