A sky toilet built on the edge of a 300ft high cliff has astonished sightseers in south-western China.
The roofless glass structure was constructed in a scenic spot near Chongqing city and offers stunning views from inside.
The designer, Mr Yang, told local media that the toilet was built in a way which also allows visitors to take breathtaking pictures from the loo with a view.
He said: “There are many toilets built in the scenic spot for tourists’ needs.
“We have incorporated creativity into the design, so that tourists can have a different experience when using the toilet.”
Mr Yang said that the loo is dubbed the ‘flying toilet’ and was built on the edge of a 300-foot (100-metre) cliff, extending into the air through a steel structure.
He explained that the outer wall is fully mirrored reflecting the views and even the sink can be used as a viewing platform.
The structure can also be used as a real toilet with waste from the traditional squat toilet flushed out to a septic tank below.
Mr Yang added that there are conventional toilets nearby as well in case tourists don’t have a head for heights.
In addition to the bizarre loo, the scenic spot also has a marine toilet where you can go to the toilet while watching fish, a mirror palace toilet like a kaleidoscope, and other fancy toilets, according to local media.
Mr Yang said: “The toilet is a must for the scenic spot.”
He added: “If netizens have any suggestions on the toilet, they can also put them forward to the staff in time. We will listen to everyone’s opinions carefully.”
