This is the moment a kindhearted worker stands in the bucket of his crane excavator and saves a fluffy little kitten trapped between two windows after the emergency services allegedly refused to come.

Local residents noticed the trapped kitten in a third-floor window at an apartment block on Lenin Street in the town of Tuymazy in the Russian republic of Bashkortostan on 25th September.

According to the news site Komsomolskaya Pravda, onlookers called the regional Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation to ask for assistance, however they refused to send an emergency team to attend the scene.

Meanwhile, residents reached out to a local excavator operator, named Almaz, 27, who was working nearby.

Almaz then agreed to use his crane excavator to reach the third-floor window and push the trapped kitten back inside the apartment.

In the footage, a resident is seen using a broom to try to save the cat, but to no avail.

Meanwhile, Almaz has apparently just arrived with his excavator and the crane is seen extending ahead of his rescue attempt.

The scene then cuts to Almaz climbing up the crane and standing in the raised bucket to push the kitten, apparently trapped in a gap between two windows, back inside the apartment.

In an interview with Komsomolskaya Pravda, Almaz said: “A man came up to me during work and asked for a ladder or a stick. He said that a cat was trapped on a third-floor window. I went with him, saw the situation and immediately decided to use my excavator.

“I drove up to the building, extended the crane, climbed in, and pushed the cat back inside the apartment. Nobody called me, I came voluntarily. Anyone else would have done the same in my shoes.”

He added that during the rescue, the cat ‘thanked’ him by biting his hand.
