This is the moment a boy playing in a road is run over by a car and survives.

Footage of the accident was recently released after it took place in the town of Fuqiang, which is in Baiquan County in north-eastern China’s Heilongjiang Province, on 31st July.

In the CCTV video, the unnamed boy, nine, is seen squatting down on the road in front of the parked estate car when the male owner climbs in the driver’s seat without noticing him.

The clueless motorist starts the vehicle and drives right into the boy, hitting his head with his front bumper and knocking him to the ground.

The vehicle does not stop and drives over the boy’s body, dragging him along the ground for over 15 feet before the child luckily re-emerges in one piece from behind the moving car, the video shows.

The child’s grandmother said the boy suffered abrasions but no serious, life-threatening injuries.

Doctors at a local hospital said the boy had fortunately avoided head and internal injuries during the frightening ordeal.

Baiquan County police had this week ruled that the motorist would be held fully liable for the traffic incident.

The driver and the boy’s family were still negotiating damages at the time of writing.
