This is the moment a young man allegedly shoots his neighbour with a Kalashnikov rifle in a row about an unpaid 3,000 GBP heating bill.

The incident was filmed by a neighbour in the district of Svyatoshiskiy in the northern Ukrainian capital Kiev and later shared on social media where it has been widely circulated.

According to reports, the unnamed suspect has failed to pay for utility bills for a number of months and has racked up a debt of 255,000 RUB (3,123 GBP).

As a result, the entire building’s heating was cut off and upset neighbours called on his door to resolve the situation, according to local media.

However, no one imagined the discussion would end with one of them being apparently shot with a Kalashnikov rifle, as seen in the footage.

In the video taken on a smartphone by one of the neighbours, a female voice says: “Lesha, are you out of your mind?”

The suspect then comes out of a room with a rifle and opens fire on a man, identified as lawyer Nikolay Bugaev.

The suspect’s daughter says: “Dad, don’t do it, stop! What are you doing?”

A pool of blood is seen on the floor when the shooting stops and one neighbour screams that someone should call an ambulance.

Bugaev was taken to hospital where he underwent emergency surgery. His condition is said to be critical.

Reports said that the suspect has been arrested as the investigation continues.
