Jewish Man Killed By Arab Rioters Who Threw Brick At His Head Donates Kidney To Arab Woman

A Jewish man who died after an Arab lynch mob threw a brick at his head has helped to save an Arab woman’s life after she received his kidney.

Yigal Yehoshua passed away at the age of 56 in hospital in the Israeli town of Be’er Ya’akov on 17th May.

His death followed a six-day battle after he was hit in the head by a brick intentionally thrown at his car window by Arab rioters in his nearby hometown of Lod.

According to his wife, he was struck while returning home from the dedication of a new Torah scroll at a nearby cooperative settlement.

The assault took place amid unrest in the city, during which Arab rioters torched a yeshiva, synagogues and other buildings and vehicles.

However, the story had a bittersweet end when Jerusalem resident Randa Aweis received the deceased man’s kidney in a transplant procedure.

The 58-year-old Arab Christian woman underwent a successful operation after receiving treatment for kidney disease for almost a decade.

The mother of six even spoke to Yigal’s wife, Irena, following the transplant, thanking her and her late husband for the “noble deed”.

Her 29-year-old daughter, Fairouz, also joined in the chorus, saying: “My heart goes out to Yigal’s family. We would like to get to know them personally and thank them.”

Other sufferers also benefitted from the deceased man’s organs, with a 69-year-old man receiving his lungs, a 22-year-old woman receiving his liver, and a 67-year-old man who also suffered from kidney disease receiving his other kidney.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has vowed to bring the victim’s attackers to justice.
