A terrified wife has reported her lawyer husband to prosecutors claiming he burned her with a branding iron and then threatened to kill her.
Monica Taibo says her husband – notary public Sergio Hernandez Vallarino – also raped her and shot her pet puppy before telling her she could be next.
State Prosecutors in the city of Cosamaloapan, Veracruz State, Mexico, are understood to be examining her dossier.
Monica took to social media to publicise her ordeal saying: “I have been raped, threatened, cheated and am a victim of domestic violence, for which I have filed a complaint with the specialised Prosecutor’s Office and an investigation has been launched.
“I was forced to be branded by my attacker, who is my husband Sergio Hernandez Vallarino, who is a number one notary public in Cosamaloapan, Veracruz.”
Monica went on: “One day we were eating at home with my children and Sergio Hernandez Vallarino, with a high-calibre pistol, killed a puppy that was our pet, telling me that he did it so I would understand that the next to die could be me, so I fear for my life and that of my family.”
Monica has demanded that the State Human Rights Commission (CEDH), the State Prosecutor’s Office and the governor of Veracruz, Cuitlahuac Garcia, do justice.
It was unclear at the time of writing if the suspect had been detained.
