The gorgeous daughter of an Italian special corps marine who faced charges over the fatal shooting of two fishermen off the coast of India has raised eyebrows after announcing her intention to go to Ukraine to fight the Russians.

Tattooed Giulia Latorre is the daughter of Massimiliano Latorre, one of two Italian special corps marines charged by Kerala Police with murder following the fatal shooting of two fishermen off the coast of the Indian state in February 2012.

The case caused a diplomatic rift between India and Italy, and Massimiliano, who was allowed to resettle in his home country after undergoing heart surgery there in January 2015, only recently saw the charges against him dropped.

His daughter Giulia first came to fame off the back of her father’s notoriety by unsuccessfully trying to enter Big Brother in 2014. She then caused a stir two years later by coming out as LGBT in a Facebook post.

And now she has taken to Facebook once again, this time to signal her intention to go to Ukraine to help the country battle off the invading Russian armed forces in a move that has raised many of her followers’ eyebrows.

She wrote: “Hello, I have called the right person to enlist in Kyiv. I have military experience (discharged), but I will continue to study to be part of it because in the Navy, the maximum limit is two years in VFP1. But will I have problems with the Italian state? My only fear is that of not being able to compete again once I return to Italy.”

In another post, she apparently gave her reasons for wanting to take up arms in war-torn Ukraine, writing: “There is war, there are people, animals and children who are losing their lives. Many Italians, like those from other countries, have left to enlist in Kyiv to give their strength and their help, and what are you doing? Do you mock them? Tell them that they are crazy and that they will have big problems when they come back? You are right: we must stay idle under the beautiful roof of our house in the warmth, to laugh and joke as if nothing had happened. That’s why the world doesn’t move on! You should be proud of those who go in your place to sacrifice themselves to help those in need!…”

No further details were made available on her trip to the war-torn region.
