Influencer Viral After Chinese TV Show Replaces Her Face With Actress In Snap With Boyfriend

A Dutch influencer has gone viral in the Netherlands and China after she noticed that a Chinese soap opera had replaced her face with a local actress in a snap of her with her boyfriend.

Dutch influencer Rianne Meijer, who has over 1.5 million followers on Instagram, was stunned when she noticed that a photo used in the Chinese TV drama ‘Summer Again’ featured her boyfriend cuddling another woman.

She posted a video on TikTok which has gone viral and in which she said: “Remember this picture? This is a picture that I posted with my boyfriend a while ago.”

She then showed the scene from the Chinese TV drama in which a modified version of the photograph can be seen.

On the left, her boyfriend appears unchanged compared to the photograph that she took with him but on the right, Rianne’s face had been replaced with that of a Chinese actress.

The influencer took it rather well, jokingly saying: “They look good together, it’s fine!”

Local media reported that the woman in the photograph is Chinese actress Li Borong whose character is in a relationship with a man called Andre.

But the photo showing ‘Andre’ in the TV drama actually features Meijer’s boyfriend Roy, local media reported.

Reports also said that once they discovered the viral post, the TV show’s production team contacted Meijer and apologised.
