A Nigerian man living in Canada beat his wife up when a routine DNA test needed for a visa for his three children to join him proved none of them were his.
The man had reportedly been working in Canada to set up a new life for his family, and after applying for a visa for his wife and three children, was told he needed a DNA test to prove they were his.
But when the results needed for the travel documents came back, it revealed that not just one of the three children but all of them had actually been fathered by somebody else.
When the Nigerian national returned home to meet his wife in the Ekewan trade fair area of Benin city, in Edo state, he reportedly attacked her and knocked out four teeth in the process.
Grim images show the woman’s beaten and bloodied face with several teeth seen missing as a result of the attack.
It is currently unclear whether the local authorities have arrested the husband over the alleged incident.
According to one local media source, a security guard in the gated community where the man’s family lived instead of intervening ran off when he realised what was happening, leading to suspicions that the security guard might have been the guilty party in the wife’s indiscretion.
