This footage shows a pair of thugs armed with AR-15 machine guns and pistols rushing into a bar and opening fire on the customers and waiter.

The incident took place in the California Grill bar in the La Magdalena colony in the municipality of Uruapan, in the western Mexican state of Michoacan and was recorded by the CCTV cameras.

In the video, a waiter can be seen carrying what appears to be a beer to a table of customers when a thug carrying an AR-15 machine gun bursts in and opens fire.

Customers and the waiter drop to the ground as the thug continues shooting before he pulls out a 9-millimetre pistol and begins shooting at victims on the ground.

The gunman’s accomplice, also carrying an AR-15 machine gun and a pistol, also fires at victims on the floor with the handgun. The second gunman then fires his machine gun before the pair flee.

Local media report four men were killed in the incident and a further two people were injured. Two of the victims were identified as the waiter, named as Nico, and Fernando Abarca, brother-in-law of Federal Congressman Francisco Javier Huacus Esquivel, who is believed to have been the real target of the attack.

Gruesome images show the victims on the floor of the bar in pools of blood.

Huacus Esquivel belongs to the left-wing political party Partido del Trabajo (Work Party) and is a part of the Legislative Commission of Security of the Mexican parliament.

The other two people who were injured were taken to the Hospital of Uruapan where they were attended. Reports state one of them is a woman but this was not confirmed by the authorities.

The Secretary of Public Security reported to local media that an operation had been started in the area in order to find the aggressors, but so far nobody has been located or arrested.

Colt recently announced that it was suspending production of the AR-15 rifle in the USA for civilians and that it would focus on fulfilling orders for the military and for law enforcement.
