According to local media, the men in the footage are believed to belong to the Jalisco New Generation Cartel.

In the video filmed by one of the suspects, the group is seen wearing scary clown masks as they show off their guns to the camera and listen to loud music.

According to reports, the group is listening to a sub-genre of the regional Mexican ‘Corrido’ (narrative ballad) genre known as ‘Narcocorrido’.

The Jalisco New Generation Cartel, founded in 2009, is a Mexican criminal group headed by one of the country’s most-wanted drug lords, Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, known as ‘El Mencho’.

It is not the first time that suspected cartel members have published videos of them brazenly carrying out patrols, according to local media.

However, reports said that it is only the second time that such a video was filmed so close to the US border.

‘Roberto J Barrientos’ simply wrote: “Incredible.”
