more than 100 firefighters were sent to the scene after the Collom Fire burned an area of more than 600 acres.
Firefighters from Moffat County were assigned yesterday ( 16 June ) to the blaze that started on the Elk Ridge mining and recovery property, southwest of Craig, along Highway 13 in Colorado on 15th June.
According to the latest Moffat County Sheriff’s Office updates, the flame was five per cent contained and had consumed nearly 650 acres on Wednesday afternoon.
County Road 51 remained temporarily closed due to the fire, which is burning south of Highway 13, west of County Road 51 and south of County Road 32.
By the time of the arrival of the 100 firefighters on the spot, the wildfire had not ‘attacked’ any structures and no injuries had been reported.
