This is the shocking moment a repairman is sent flying into the air when a tyre he is repairing explodes.

A driver had called for assistance after a tyre needed to be repaired alongside a busy road in Shenzhen, southeast China on Saturday, 17th December.

After removing the huge wheel, the repairer then started inflating the tyre with a high-pressure pump.

Then, as the mechanic checks the rims, the wheel suddenly shoots backwards into his shins knocking him head over heels into the air and crashing down on a parked truck.

Clearly dazed, he stays down until he has enough strength to stand up again.

Another man is then seen walking over as the mechanic staggers over to the back of his van to look for a first-aid box, according to local media.

The video, which was shared on Douyin, the Chinese version of TikTok, baffled online commentators who said that the man had been irresponsible in blowing up the tyre and was lucky to have escaped with only minor injuries.

User ‘elen’ wrote: “I have to go to the hospital for a checkup right away, or it will be too late.”

And ‘bowed his head and smiled’ advised: “Therefore, whether we drive a truck or replace a tire with a new one, we should stay away when pumping up the gas, and safety is the first priority.”
