INFLATION HITS HARD: Young Turkish Mechanic Dies After Massive Tyre Explodes Straight In His Face

A young man from Turkey has lost his battle for life after a massive tyre that he was inflating exploded in his face more than two months ago.

The mechanic, identified as Ali Aydin, aged 21, succumbed to the injuries he obtained when a tyre exploded and sent him flying backwards in September.

He was reportedly working on some construction equipment when the incident occurred Tekkekoy district of Samsun Province, on north-central Turkey’s Black Sea coast.

The 21-year-old man had spent more than two months in the hospital, after a piece of metal flew out from the tyre and struck him straight in the face.

Surveillance footage of the incident showed Aydin inflating a giant tyre while not looking at what he was doing, while one of his colleagues worked on the construction vehicle’s engine.

When the tyre suddenly exploded and catapulted him backwards, the man working on the construction machine’s engine rushed to his aid.

Aydin was reportedly lying on the ground in an unconscious state, before an ambulance came and transported him to the hospital.

His tragic death saddened many netizens and prompted many reactions on social media platforms.

A user identified only as Serkan said: “May God have mercy on him, may he rest in heaven, the young man died while earning his living, I wish God’s patience to his family, it is very sad.”

Another user named Ishak Kocadayi commented: “May God have mercy on him, may he rest in peace.”

Then a third user named Mesut Turan and reportedly a coworker of Aydin’s added: “Rest in peace my colleague.”
