A 24-year-old bride-to-be is fighting for life after her jilted ex shot her in the head in a botched kidnap attempt.

Brutal Bedirhan Uysal had turned up at his former girlfriend’s family home in Sancaktepe, Turkey, on 26th December and tried to snatch her as she was leaving the house.

But as he tried to drag terrified Ulku Deniz Ersoz to a waiting car, her mother pulled her back and 22-year-old Uysal shot his ex in the neck.

The bullet travelled up to her brain, where it remains, while intensive care unit surgeons monitor her condition.

Sources told police they believe the motive for the crime was Ulku’s engagement to another man two months ago, following her break-up with Uysal a year ago.

One of those who witnessed the crime was the father of Ulku’s fiance, who had come to pick her up to take her to get her driving licence.

According to reports, police have arrested two suspects, while a third remains on the run.

It is not clear if Uysal is among the detainees.

Of the other two suspects, one has been identified as 17-year-old C. K., while the other has not been named.

The investigation continues.
