Gunman Shoots Homeless Man At Point-Blank Range

This is the moment a gunman in an SUV walks up to a homeless man in the middle of the street and opens fire five times at point-blank range before sprinting away.

The shocking incident took place in the municipality of Santo Andre on the outskirts of the city of Sao Paulo in the Brazilian state of the same name.

In the video, a gunman, who has not been identified, can be seen walking from an SUV and approaching a man walking towards him, named in reports as Sebastiao Lopes dos Santos, 40.

The shooter then opens fire, firing at least five shots at point-blank range at Santos before turning and sprinting away, according to local media.

Santos manages to turn and run away as the gunman gets back into the SUV, reportedly a Mercedes.

Local media report the victim was treated by paramedics at the scene but succumbed to his wounds.

Reports state Santos was homeless and residents knew him well from salvaging recyclable rubbish in the area. He is said to have lived on the streets with his wife, who has not been named.

The Civil Police have launched an investigation into the incident and no motive has yet been provided. No arrests have been reported.
