A farmer has been arrested for butchering his girlfriend’s younger brother with a machete after the lad spied the couple having sex and threatened to spill the beans.
Police say Hun Tola, 27, killed schoolboy Try Kakada with a machete in village of Pich Sar in the Kaoh Andaet District of southern Cambodia’s Takeo Province.
Lieutenant Colonel Eam Pheap, deputy chief of Koh Andet district police, said Tola had been in a relationship with the boy’s 21-year-old sister.

He had taken the girl, whose name has not been released, to his rice field to have sex but they were seen by the youngster who threatened to tell his parents, according to Lt Col Pheap.
Tola was frightened Try would carry out his threat and invited him to go fishing with him after his girlfriend went home.
Lt Col Pheap said Tola took the boy to a secluded area and then allegedly beat him unconscious before slashing his throat with his machete.
“After killing the victim, he threw the body into the pond and fled to hide in his home,” the policeman added.
The boy’s body was found that afternoon by another villager who alerted cops and the dead boy’s family.
Police acting on information supplied by Tola’s girlfriend later arrested him at his home. She told cops she had seen her brother walking off with Tola.
However, she did not reveal the reason for the killing which police say came out during questioning when Tola allegedly told them what had happened.
Tola, who has been remanded in police custody, faces a murder charge and up to 15 years in prison if he is found guilty.
