A tough Turkish businessman whose car had been damaged by crooks who wanted to extort money beat them violently and shot three of them when they turned up to collect their due.
The violent confrontation left blood all over the floor of his reception area, with three of the gang members badly wounded and hospitalised.
CCTV cameras capture the moment the gang members arrive at the hotel in Guzeltyurt, in the Yunusemre district of Manisa on 26th December.
They sit down apparently for a quiet word in order to explain how accidents will continue to happen unless they get a fee to provide protection.
However, the conversation did not go well and turned into a fight in which one of the gang members took out a gun in the Boxing Day incident.
The hotel owner, identified only by the first name Ahmet was unaware that his brother Omer had been threatened and that he was trying to neutralise the gunmen until he shouted when one of the attackers stabbed him in the leg, according to local media.
That alerted Ahmet, who ran into the lobby with two guns and neutralised three of the attackers by shooting them in the leg.
All three were seriously injured and ended up being treated at Manisa State Hospital. According to the CCTV images, he fired at least seven bullets at the crooks, report local media.
He also filed a complaint with the police, who are investigating the attack on the businessman’s car and also the later attack in the lobby.
