Thieves who fled with loot worth more them GBP 2 million from a British tycoon’s mansion in Italy are being hunted by police.

Victim Karim Kalaf and his Russian influencer wife Galina Genis had been on a luxury holiday in Dubai when the raiders targeted their villa in Milan.

Local media reported that the thieves opened a safe and stole goods worth EUR 2.5 million (GBP 2.2 million) before fleeing.

Among the stolen items were Cartier and Patek Philippe watches, as well as jewellery and handbags.

The couple’s Lamborghini Urus and Ferrari Portofino were left behind, possibly because the thieves had been unable to find the keys.

The crooks broke into the mansion overlooking the city’s San Siro Stadium – home to A. C. and Inter Milan – on 11th November.

Only upon returning to Italy did Kalaf, 39, and Genis, 34, realise they had been burgled.

Police in Milan are now investigating the heist but have not currently identified any suspects.

They noted, however, that the thieves who broke into the villa knew exactly where to go and what to look for.

The couple told investigators at Bonola Police Station that the villa caretaker had called them while they were abroad to report that a French window was open.

However, there seemed to be nothing strange inside the property, he had told them.

Kalaf describes himself online as the founder of KK Global Marketing and a member of the board of directors of Vividus SRL.

He was born in Australia, raised in Italy, educated in the UK, and is half-Arab. Italian media described him as “Anglo-Australian”.

Genis has 28,500 followers on Instagram, where she describes herself as “made in Russia”, based in London, and mother to Boris Louis Santoro.
