GULL-TY: Cruel Tourist Grabs Seagull For Vile Pictures

A woman in south-western China faced online fury after a video of her grabbing a seagull to pose for a picture emerged on social media.

The woman – not named in local media in Kunming, Yunnan Province – was filmed by an unknown witness on 4th January.

In the footage – shared on Douyin, the Chinese version of TikTok – the woman can be seen grasping a gull and holding its wings back so it cannot free itself.

Her husband – taking her picture – helps her adjust the poor bird’s position for a pose as she smiles for a photo while the captured bird screams.

Amazingly other people standing nearby do nothing to help the trapped bird or discourage the woman.

The video was posted with the caption ‘Does anyone care anymore?’, apparently referring to onlookers who simply stood by and watched.

Netizens also accused her of being careless and “having no morals”.

One user, ‘Xinxin’, wrote a comment: “The Kunming police will look for you, no matter which province you are in.”

User ‘dead cool’ commented: “The aunt in the black dress must be a habitual offender. It doesn’t bite.”

And user ‘Dianchi Cultural Tourism’ said: “Please watch the gulls in a civilised manner.”
