A cheeky monkey in south-western China won the hearts of tourists when it gave one woman a devilish smile after receiving a milk carton from her.

The woman – who was not named in local media in Leshan, Sichuan Province – was on a trip to Mount Emei on 4th January.

And on her journey, she encountered the comically thankful monkey that seems to really appreciate her generosity.

In a video that was posted on Douyin, the Chinese version of TikTok, a large group of visitors appear to have happened upon the animal, which can be seen greeting the crowd while standing atop a wooden railing.

And while many members of the audience stand close by taking pictures and admiring the monkey, one woman apparently decides to reach out as it hands it a milk carton.

The carton immediately catches the monkey’s interest and it excitedly snatches it off her hands.

After taking a closer look at the treat, the monkey then turns around and looks at the woman wearing the biggest grin on its face.

Visitors can’t help but smile at the overjoyed creature’s priceless reaction as it starts skipping away with the milk carton in hand.

Netizens laughed at the way the monkey smiled and raised its eyebrows at the woman.

User ‘Cai Cai is a meow’ said: “This monkey is quite polite, knowing that it took your milk and smiled at you.”

And user ‘Yang Yangyang’ pointed out: “It also winked at you.”
