This is the heartwarming video liked more than a million times on TikTok in which a poor family built a playhouse out of cardboard and sticks for a delighted little girl.

But the video has been ruined by cruel trolls who have claimed that Paola Del Valle – the single mum who made the playhouse -was trying to cash in on her six-year-old daughter Elisa.

The footage starts off with Elisa being led through a trash-strewn back garden at the family home in Chile, giggling with her head covered with a cloth.

When it is removed, she can see that a playhouse which she had asked for Christmas has been built by her family.

The youngster is clearly delighted as she goes inside and tries out the cardboard cupboards, fridge and microwave as well as a small basket of sweets.

In the corner is a bed that she sits on with a huge beaming smile as a brother shows off the cooker and other homemade gadgets.

Then with a huge smile, Elisa says in Spanish: “Thank you so much, Mum.”

Elisa had asked for the house so she had somewhere to play with her dolls but the family had no spare cash.

Her mother explained: “We just use what we could find among the junk.”

After attracting more than 20,000 comments, she then wrote: “We want to thank the people who have sent us good vibes and who have contacted internally. Thank you so much for everything”.

But she also hit back at critics accusing her of taking advantage of others and telling her to go out and get a job if she wanted to help the children.

In the second video, she said: “Hello everyone, I want to make a clarification regarding the video that I uploaded of my daughter. I didn’t upload it with the intention that so many people would see it. I uploaded it as one more video than we have uploaded on TikTok.

“I wanted to share it because I had a lump in my throat when I saw her emotion. I just wanted to share it. I have deleted a lot of the critical comments.

“I know that the yard looks a mess, but that’s because we just finished building the house. My children wanted to give the house to their sister. Then we finished cleaning the yard.”

She added that there are not many places she can get a job where she lives, but that she carries on anyway and does the best she can.

She said: “Everyone here knows me and knows that, day by day, as a single mother with my children, I try to stay ahead. I have four children who are 13, ten, Elisa who is six and the youngest who is four years old.

“Believe me that if I had the option of a stable job, I would take it with a thousand thank yous, but here I don’t have the opportunity.

“So I would ask you to refrain from making comments like this, because my daughter still reads them and sometimes with a mere word they don’t know the damage they cause.”
