This is the hilarious moment a dishevelled young girl turns off the lights while popping to the loo in the middle of the night and startles her dad on the sofa, causing them both to scream in fright and wake up the whole house.

The man’s daughter, not dissimilar to the girl who comes out of the TV in the horror film ‘The Ring’, was filmed causing a “midnight fright” at the family’s home in the city of Jiaxing in the Chinese province of Zhejiang.

According to local reports, the girl, name not disclosed, woke up in the middle of the night to pop to the loo.

She then noticed the living room light was still on and considerately went to turn it off.

However, her thoughtful energy-saving act woke her sleeping dad, who startled at her moving around the house to turn the lights on and off.

The girl’s mother said the pair’s screams woke up the whole family, adding that it was a “midnight fright”.

She added that her husband fell asleep on the sofa while playing with his phone and not because he was in the ‘dog house’.

In the funny footage, the tired young girl is seen turning off the living room light before apparently banging into a chair in the dark.

She then puts the hall light on and looks over her shoulder.

Her dad suddenly sees a scary young girl with long black hair peering over at him and sits up straight on the sofa, letting out a ghastly wail.

The girl also screams in shock before calming down and seeing the funny side.

However, her father appears less amused, and he lies on the sofa and lets out a groan.
