Putins Spokesmans Daughter Whines About Supposedly Unfair And Unfounded Travel Ban While Her Dad Threatens Nuclear War

The 24-year-old, pretty, blonde socialite daughter of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s spokesman has complained that the sanctions affecting her over Russia’s invasion of Ukraine are “completely unfair and unfounded”.

The statement comes hours after her father, Dmitry Peskov, 54, refused to rule out that Putin could resort to using nuclear weapons to get his way. But the young woman appears to be more concerned about missed travel opportunities, reportedly saying: “I’m upset because I would like to travel and love other cultures.”

Elizaveta Peskova, Peskov’s daughter, reportedly told Business Insider in a telephone interview last Friday that the sanctions imposed on her father and his family, who is, in the US State Department’s words, “chief propagandist of the Russian Federation and Vladimir Putin’s spokesperson”, have not harmed her financially but are still “completely unfair and unfounded”.

But her father, Dmitry Peskov, told CNN’s Christiane Amanpour yesterday that Russia would use nukes if threatened, while Russian forces continue to bomb civilian infrastructure as their invasion of Ukraine has reportedly become increasingly bogged down in the face of fierce resistance from Ukrainian forces.

But Peskova said: “I was really surprised because it is weird to introduce sanctions on someone who is 24 years old and has nothing to do with the situation.”

Peskova is reportedly the founder of a communications company and the director of a historical foundation. She has a Master’s degree in International Relations.

It is current unclear how much money she actually has, but if her Instagram account, which boasts 250,000 followers, is anything to go by, she hardly seems to be struggling, regularly posting images that convey a lavish lifestyle.

US President Joe Biden and his allies are reportedly set to impose further sanctions on Russia after NATO member states and many other countries imposed unprecedented restrictions and asset freezes on wealthy or influential Russians.

The goal is to punish Russia for its invasion of Ukraine, in a bid to force its forces to withdraw.

Numerous companies, from Starbucks to McDonald’s and from luxury brands like LVMH to food companies like the British multinational Unilever, pulled out of Russia and the already lengthy list continues to grow.

NATO countries have been reluctant to impose a no-fly zone over Ukraine despite President Zelenskyy’s repeated requests for them to do so as civilian casualties continue to rise.

But the US and the EU, along with the UK and other allies, have been providing unprecedented military support as Ukraine’s military and civilians resist the Russian forces amid widespread reports that they have become bogged down.

The UN’s International Court of Justice has ruled Russia’s invasion of Ukraine illegal and has ordered Russian President Vladimir Putin to remove his troops immediately. Former British Prime Ministers Sir John Major and Gordon Brown have called for the creation of a Nuremberg-style international tribunal to investigate Putin.

The proposal has been co-signed by 140 intellectuals and academics, as well as Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba and Benjamin Ferencz, who is 102 years old and who prosecuted Nazi war criminals at Nuremberg.
