Ghost Figure Caught On Home Camera At Night Frightens Woman As It Triggers Alarm

A terrified woman called police to her home in panic after she caught a ghost-like shadow moving across her living room at night on surveillance video.

Eerie CCTV footage shows the shadowy figure of a man crossing into the woman’s kitchen in Chongqing, China’s biggest municipality, at 10:17pm on 29th February.

A loud alarm triggered by the camera movement forced the female owner, not named, out of bed as she was supposedly about the sleep.

Upon checking, she discovered the dark figure floating by, scaring her senseless and prompting her to call the police.

However, officers found no sign of any intruders in the home.

She shared the video on Douyin, China’s version of TikTok, hoping to find an answer.

Some netizens wondered if it was supernatural forces at work.

One, titled ‘Jinjin Beauty Meow’, wrote: “It has legs, so clearly, it must be a human figure. I just don’t know if it’s alive or dead.”

While others tried to provide a more rational explanation.

User ‘The sun warms you.’ said: “Definitely a camera video encoding issue. The cameras at my home behave the same way at night – and when a person walks by, they appear almost transparent.”

And ‘Will fish eat iron flakes?’ commented: “Bugs crawling through surveillance cameras.”
