This footage shows a German Shepherd attacking a young girl and dragging her along the ground by her hair.
The incident took place in the city of Kazan, the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan in western Russia, when Samira, 7, was attacked by the dog.
She said she was unable to sleep for two days after the attack because of the shock.
Luckily she was not seriously injured in the attack although doctors have prescribed rabies injections.
The dog, a German Shepherd called Jack who is one year old, belongs to a neighbour.
The neighbour, named as Rasikh Mukhametzyanov in local reports, has now put the dog on a chain and plans to keep it that way until he has managed to build a fence around his property.
He also said the dog, technically still a puppy because German Shepherds reach maturity at the age of 18 months, is good with children.
However, the girl’s parents, who have not been named, said the footage shows otherwise, with the German Shepherd seen not on a lead and running towards the girl, who it knocks over.
The footage then shows her being pulled along the ground by her hair by the dog.
The dog’s owner has reportedly been fined but district prosecutors have asked psychologists to assess the child’s trauma, pending further charges.
