Shocking footage has emerged of the moment four workers were crushed underneath a collapsing concrete wall at their worksite.

The freak accident happened in the city of Kunming, capital of south-western China’s Yunnan Province, as the two male and two female workers were preparing to head into the construction site at the start of the day.

Reports say the incident happened at just past 8am local time on 17th January, with the accident causing two deaths and left the two others injured and requiring medical treatment.

Grainy footage of the accident shows the group standing on the pavement outside the worksite when the nearby wall suddenly gives way for no apparent reason.

The concrete block falls onto the workers, who have no time to react, and who become crushed under its weight as a result.

Some of their colleagues can be seen rushing over to help them as the clip ends.

According to reports, all four workers were wearing hard hats at the time of the accident.

The two female workers were confirmed to have died of their injuries, while the surviving two workmen remain in treatment.

Local authorities are still investigating the cause of the accident.
