A forensic police officer has reportedly killed himself after shooting his brother and girlfriend dead when he caught them having an affair.

The incident took place in the city of Pehuajo in the eastern Argentina province of Buenos Aires after the suspect’s girlfriend, identified as 19-year-old Brenda Rojas, called the police moments before her death.

Cops on the scene found the young woman’s dead body lying by the front door after being shot in the back, according to local media.

The suspect’s brother, named Felipe Lulich, was reportedly found in the bathroom with a gunshot wound to his abdomen.

Local media said the brother was found with a shotgun which he apparently used to defend himself.

Forensic cop Boris Lulich was found with a gunshot wound to the head which it is believed to be self-inflicted, according to reports.

Despite the serious injury, the suspect was reportedly still alive when the police arrived, but he died shortly afterwards in hospital.

Prosecutor Luis Caldentey said they are investigating the case as a double homicide and suicide.

Caldentey added that police were working on the theory that the suspect killed his brother and girlfriend in a jealous rage after catching them in an intimate moment.
