Horrified cops discovered a foetus lying on the road after its mother-to-be was crushed and killed in a horrific car crash.

The young woman, Nur Syafiqah Jaafar, was riding on the back of a motorbike with her husband Mohd Ikraam Ab Azit, both aged 22, when they had the crash in the district of Pasir Mas, in North-western Malaysia’s Kelantan State in the early hours of the morning.

The motorbike they were travelling on collided with a Myvi hatchback produced by Malaysian car manufacturer Perodua and the young woman’s body was found some metres from the crash.

Shopper traffic police then found the foetus also lying on the road not far from her body.

Pasir Mas district police chief Abdullah Mohammad Piah said that the accident had caused the woman, who was in final year of study engineering at Politeknik Kota Bharu (PKB), to lose the baby onto the road.

It was later revealed that her parents when told the news did not even realise that their daughter was pregnant.

Her dad Jaafar Ibrahim, 63, said: “This morning at 8am, we were shocked to learn about the accident. Syafiqah has been married for almost a year, but she never told the family about her pregnancy.”

Cops say that the driver of the other vehicle hit the motorbike head-on while overtaking and that the driver had been injured but survived.

An investigation into the accident is continuing. The woman, her husband, and the foetus all died in the accident.
