FACE BOOKED: Bizarre Case Of Wanted Murderer Who Demanded Young Woman Neighbour Give Him Son To Settle Debt

A Chinese farmer who bizarrely murdered his female neighbour and her husband after she failed to bear him a son as part of a deal to settle a debt has been arrested after 28 years on the run.

The farmer, identified only by the surname Zhang, who is now 69 years old, was finally caught after he was identified by a facial recognition camera.

Zhang had lent RMB 2,700 (USD 424) to his neighbour and when they failed to repay the debt, he suggested that the man’s wife sleep with him and if she got pregnant with a son, he would regard the debt as settled.

But the scheme backfired when he failed to make her pregnant, and his wife, with whom he had four daughters and no sons, dumped him when she found out about the arrangement.

The man had apparently been obsessed with having a male heir, and every time a girl child was born he had put it up for adoption, keeping only the eldest daughter and then coming up with the scheme to try and impregnate his 29-year old neighbour’s wife, unnamed but aged 28, who had two sons.

After a year with the younger woman, she told him she was giving up the arrangement because he had failed to make her pregnant, so he allegedly flew into a rage and killed her and her husband in a field where they all lived in Yingshan County in southwestern China’s Sichuan Province before going on the run.

It was revealed that the mother of the man he allegedly killed, who was working nearby, had tried to stop the frenzied attack, and had also been injured. She later took over caring for the couple’s two sons after the parents were murdered.

Because he had moved in with the younger woman, Zhang was then not at home when his wife who dumped him discovered that he had made her pregnant with twins, both of them boys. He was however no longer around to see them grow up because after being kicked out of living with the younger woman, he was forced to go on the run for the murder.

He survived by doing odd jobs under a fake identity but was caught by facial recognition technology. There had been no further updates at the time of writing.
