Club Brugge football club has pulled a video that inadvertently featured a man who has since been arrested for beating an elderly Manchester City fan and putting him in a coma.
The incident that led to the Manchester City fan ending up in a coma is alleged to have taken place in the district of Drongen in the city of Ghent in the Flemish Region of Belgium.
Club Brugge had put together the promotional footage showing numerous fans cheering in the stands to enthuse fans.

One of the cheering men in the pulled footage is reportedly the man who was arrested for putting an elderly Manchester City fan, unnamed but who is said to be 63 years old, in a coma last Tuesday evening (19th October).
The public prosecutor is quoted by local media outlet Nieuwsblad as saying: “A man wearing a Manchester City scarf had stopped his car at the motorway car park in Drongen after the Club Brugge – Manchester City football match and had gone to the shop.
“According to the first findings of the investigation, his football scarf was taken in the shop by a suspect and he walked outside with it.

“Subsequently, the victim came into confrontation with some suspects in the car park, and ended up on the ground after a physical aggression.”
The suspect has been named only as Yorben S. in local media outlets due to strict local privacy laws.
The newspaper also says that according to the victim’s son, witnesses saw his father receive a blow to the head from the Club Brugge supporters.

The victim was taken to hospital and is in a coma in a stable condition.
The police have since arrested five people, and the public prosecutor said: “The inquest and arrest were requested on the basis of theft by assault and theft by aggravated assault by one of the defendants, wilful assault and battery with incapacity for work by a second defendant, and culpable negligence on the part of all five defendants.”
When it became clear to Club Brugge that one of the suspects features in the footage, it removed the video, according to Nieuwsblad.
