Driver Jumps Out Of Moving Burning Lorry At Toll Booth

This is the moment a driver jumps out of a moving, burning lorry at a toll booth after the vehicle suddenly caught fire on the motorway.

The incident was filmed at the Yuncheng North toll gate in the city of Yuncheng in the north-eastern Chinese province of Shanxi, and the video was later widely shared on social media.

In the footage, black smoke is seen filling the air as a flaming lorry suddenly passes through the toll booth.

While the burning vehicle is still moving, the driver jumps out of the cab and runs to a safe distance.

According to local media, toll workers spotted the burning lorry and immediately called the emergency services. Firefighter on the scene needed over an hour to deal with the blaze.

One firefighter told local media: “The lorry was close to the toll gate when it caught on fire. The driver made the right decision to get the vehicle off the motorway.

“If it had been ablaze on the motorway, the situation could have been more completed and potentially dangerous.”

The unnamed lorry driver said the vehicle caught fire suddenly and he does not know what could have caused it.

However, thanks to his actions no one was hurt in the incident.

The police are investigating what caused the lorry to catch on fire.
