This is the dramatic dash-cam footage of a Skoda driver veering onto the wrong side of the road before smashing head-on into a tractor.

A video of the shocking accident, filmed near the village of Elkino in the district of Aleksandrovsky located in the western Russian region of Vladimir Oblast, shows the filming motorist slowing down behind the tractor.

As the driver waits for a line of oncoming cars to pass before overtaking the slow-moving vehicle, an out-of-control Skoda is seen veering onto the opposite side of the road and directly into the tractor’s path.

With a crash, the car collides with the tractor head-on, knocking the large vehicle onto its side while the front of the Skoda appears completely smashed.

According to local media, the car flew into a ditch and the unnamed driver was injured in the accident.

He is currently being treated in hospital although there have been no further updates on his condition and it is unclear whether the tractor driver was hurt in the crash.

A spokesperson for Vladimir Oblast’s Ministry of Internal Affairs said that the motorist was driving towards the town of Alexandrov when he lost control and veered into the opposite lane. It is unclear why the motorist drove into the wrong lane.
