Firefighters have found a human skull next to a railway line in a capital city that the authorities believe was used in black magic rituals.
The skull was found next to a rail track in the southern Guatemalan capital Guatemala City close to the Doroteo Guamuch Flores National Stadium.
The fire brigade said they found the human skull on the track that runs next to 21 Street and 10th Avenue in Zone 1.
According to local officials quoted by the National Civil Police (PNC), the skull was not there a few days prior to being found when they last carried out routine checks in the area.
The PNC spokesperson also said that the authorities have examined the skill and said that it has damaged areas and is not recent.
At the moment, the local authorities believe the skull may have been robbed from a grave to be used in witchcraft rituals.
The investigation into the macabre find is ongoing.
