Dozens Of Drones In Light Show Plummet From Sky Into Spectators Arms In Suspected Hacking Incident

This is the moment dozens of drones plummet from the sky and into the arms of a large crowd of people who gathered to watch a light show a city shopping centre was putting on.

However, residents did not seem to mind too much, hastily pocketing the expensive devices and making off with them.

The incident took place in the city of Zhengzhou in the Chinese province of Henan, and the footage shows the lights from the coordinated drones going out one by one as the devices seemingly lose power and plummet towards the ground.

Some can be seen hitting parked cars while others simply crash onto the tarmac, with some people who had been watching the show running over to pick them up before making a run for it.

The show was organised by staff at the Wanda Plaza shopping centre in the Zhengzhou High-tech Zone who have reportedly filed a complaint with the police because they suspect the drones might have been hacked by a rival in a bid to ruin the show.

No injuries were reported, and it is unclear if the police are investigating the organisers’ claim of sabotage.
