Traffic Jam: Motorists Dance During Motorway Tailback

This is the moment motorists stuck in an motorway tailback play music and create an impromptu dance floor in the middle of the road.

The incident came was bored drivers were waiting for a traffic jam to clear in the city of Guadalajara in the state of Jalisco in western Mexico and one driver played the popular song ‘La Chona’ by the Mexican band Los Tucanes de Tijuana.

In the video, drivers and passengers can be seen joyfully dancing to the song in the middle of the traffic jam. Others then run to join the impromptu festivities, with women, men and children all dancing in the middle of the traffic ham across three lanes.

A man says “this is what the traffic jams in Guadalajara are like” and the clip has been viewed nearly 100,000 times on social media.

Netizen ‘Soledad Moreno’ commented: “A good attitude… better than being angry.”

While ‘Emely Nunez’ added: “It’s good they are happy.”

And ‘Gaby Arevalo’ wrote: “Perfect for the stress.”

In 2018, INRIX, a transport company, published a study about the Latin American cities with the worst traffic and Guadalajara came in 18th place. The study found that drivers in the city spent about 181 hours a year in traffic jams.
