Moment 50 Tents Fly In The Sky Like Kites After Being Swept Up By Strong Winds

This is the moment about 50 tents fly high in the air like kites at a nature spot after the people selling them failed to fasten them with pegs and they were swept up by strong winds.

The incident took place at the Wugong Mountain Scenic Area, which is a tourist hotspot located near the city of Pingxiang in Jiangxi Province in south-eastern China.

The incident reportedly took place on 1st October, at the beginning of the National Day Golden Week, an annual Chinese holiday that lasts between seven and eight days.

Members of staff at the scenic hotspot later confirmed to local media that a number of merchants selling tents had indeed failed to use pegs when setting up their wares and the strong winds had swept them up into the air.

Local media reported that about 50 tents were affected, adding that staff had urged the tent merchants to ensure that their wares were properly secured.

This is not the first time this has happened, with a similar incident taking place at the nature spot on 1st May.

The Wugongshan National Geological Park is located in the area of the mountain range and the mountains it contains are mostly composed of granite, limestone, and gneiss, which have become a popular tourist attraction.

Millions of years ago, when the south of China was a vast ocean, there were isolated islands until tectonic collision lifted the sea bottom and turned them into a mountain range as the ocean receded around them.
