This adorable dog with strikingly different-coloured eyes has been found tied to a fence in the street next to a bag of toys and belongings.

The poor pooch, which had reportedly been tied to the spot for several days in the city of Krasnoyarsk in the central Russian region of Krasnoyarsk Krai, was eventually rescued by members of the ‘LapUshki’ animal shelter.

Rescuers found the well-groomed dog next to a bag of personal items.

One volunteer told local media: “The dog guarded the bag next to it and whenever we tried to take it, the animal growled at us.

“We then decided to play with the dog and it worked, the animal enjoyed the game and it let us untie it and take it to the shelter.”

The shelter noticed that the male dog had been vaccinated, neutered and generally well cared for and they decided to name it Vermut.

A volunteer said: “When we looked in the bag, it was full of items such as dog bowls, toys and expensive foods.

“The animal was also groomed and very healthy, he seemed well looked after.”

Shelter spokeswoman Polina Kameshkova told Central European News (CEN): “Vermut is a hyperactive dog that is not so easy to take care of. However, if you use a little patience it can become easier.”

She added that the dog has been with the shelter since 18th March and no one has come forwards to claim it.

It is unclear why Vermut’s previous owners allegedly abandoned it in the street.
