This is the moment a woman who runs a red light on her scooter is pushed more than 130 feet by a lorry but manages to escape being run over just as it destroys her scooter.

The heart-stopping accident happened on the streets of Jinhua in East China’s Zhejiang Province on the morning of 12th October, with rider Ms Luo surviving largely unscathed.

Traffic camera footage shows Ms Luo riding on a zebra crossing through a red light and ending up in front of the tipper lorry driven by Mr Feng.

The lorry knocks her over and continues driving forwards, pushing her and her scooter more than 130 feet along the road.

The helpless Ms Luo is left stuck on her seat and is at one point flung up in the air as her small vehicle is crushed and destroyed by the large lorry wheels, which miss the woman by mere inches.

She ends up sitting dazed on the ground as Mr Feng finally brakes, leaving Mr Luo’s scooter almost unrecognisable and in pieces.

Mr Feng said he “didn’t see her” and stopped after feeling a bump.

Ms Luo, who police say ‘cheated death’, was taken to hospital and treated for a minor sprain in her left foot.

The authorities said the accident was caused by her running the red light, but Mr Feng is also expected to be held at least partially liable for the crash.

Investigations are ongoing.
