This footage shows an adorable pooch rolling around on wheels after it was a shot and left unable to use its hind legs.

The dog named Bublik, which means Bagel, was found by a group of volunteers in late 2018 with an injured spine in the Siberian city of Krasnoyarsk in central Russia.

The dog was very weak and almost frozen when he was found. It was never discovered how he came to be shot, and nobody was ever arrested or charged.

Medics that were asked to treat him confirmed that they had taken several bullets out of his body including some that had lodged in his spine, which led to the paralysis of his rear legs.

The dog was delivered to the capital city of Moscow for the surgery and later rehab and has been moving around with a two-wheeled device instead of using his rear legs.

Bagel has undergone three operations so far to try and restore the use of his legs, but those working with him say they have now accepted he will never walk on all fours again.

Volunteers report that despite this relative disability, Bagel is an incredibly cheerful and enthusiastic dog, saying that he loves to dash around in his two-wheeled cart and play with other dogs and does not seem to notice the lack of two rear legs.

However, his carers are worried that the dog’s obvious disability might hinder him from getting adopted once he is returned to a shelter in his Siberian homeland, and they still hope that someone with a truly good heart and lack of prejudice will provide him with a permanent home.
