Wife Ordered Hit On Judge Hubby For Life Insurance Cash

The wife of a judge filmed being shot dead from behind in the street has been arrested on suspicion of ordering his murder to cash in on his life insurance policy.

A federal judge has ordered the arrest of Marisol Macias Gutierrez in connection with the murder of her husband, Toluca District Judge Vicente Antonio Bermudez Zacarias who was shot dead on 17th October 2016 when he was jogging in the streets of the municipality of Metepec, in the central Mexican state of Mexico.

She was arrested in the city of Leon, in the central Mexican state of Guanajuato, by agents of the federal police.

Local media report she is suspected of having ordered her husband’s murder in order to receive the money from his life insurance policy. It is unclear how much the policy was worth.

CCTV footage which was leaked at the time shows the judge jogging across a road when a gunman runs up behind him and shoots him in the neck at point-blank range.

The judge drops to the ground and rolls onto his back. Local media report that paramedics attended the 37-year-old man who was taken to a health clinic where he died from his injuries.

The victim’s wife has been placed in preventative detention and the federal judge in charge of the case has given a three-month deadline for the investigation to be completed.

The woman was taken to the Social Reinsertion Centre (prison) Santiaguito in Almoloya de Juarez, in Mexico State.

The arrest comes after the General Prosecution took the case on again with the cooperation of the General Prosecution of the state of Mexico State and the National Centre of Information.
