This is the moment a mobile crane veers onto the opposite side of a motorway and crushes a saloon car against the underside of a lorry.

The accident happened on the Wuhu-Hefei Expressway in East China’s Anhui Province, with the saloon driver reportedly losing their life in the crash.

The dashcam footage dated 1st June shows the large lorry-mounted crane veering to its left, cutting across several lanes before punching through the concrete central reservation.

In the video, the crane slams into the smaller black saloon, pushing it against and under a nearby lorry.

The dramatic accident ends with the mobile crane lodged in the side of the lorry, with images of the aftermath showing the saloon car crushed beyond recognition.

According to reports, the saloon driver suffered fatal crush injuries during the accident and was declared dead after rescuers prised the car out of the lorry’s undercarriage.

The victim’s identity has not been revealed and it is unclear whether there any other passengers were inside the salon at the time of the crash.

No other injuries have been reported while further investigations continue. It is currently unclear why the crane veered into the opposite side of the motorway.
