This is the dramatic moment a police officer rescues a young girl who has lost consciousness after trapping her neck in a half-opened car window.

Body-worn camera footage from the city of Karamay, which is in China’s north-western Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, shows officers arriving to find the five-year-old with her neck trapped in the parked SUV’s rear window on 12th March.

A young girl heard crying as she watches the scene unfold in front of her when one of the policemen breaks a different window at the front of the current order to get inside.

But he is unable to wind down the back window as the engine is not switched on and he does not have the key.

Instead he then uses brute force to force down window can be heard grunting from the effort as he physically pushes the window down with his hands.

He then opens the door and lifts the unconscious child out of the car before performing chest compressions on her.

The authorities said the girl quickly regained consciousness and that a short while after the rescue her mother, Ms Yan, returned to the vehicle.

The child was taken to a local hospital by paramedics and is in stable condition, a report said.

Ms Yan revealed to police that she had left her daughter in the car to visit a local supermarket that day.

While trying to find her mum, the girl opened the automatic window in order to climb out, but she then closed the window on her neck, with the electricity cutting off shortly after.
