This dramatic body cam footage shows armed police firing over a dozen shots at a drug trafficker nicknamed the ‘Cockroach’ as he tries to escape in his getaway car.
Officers with Fongshan Precinct in Taiwan’s southern port city of Kaohsiung made the arrest in neighbouring Pingtung County following a sting operation in the early hours of 5th March.
The man surnamed Chen, 59, was tracked by the authorities after a local court handed him a three-month jail term for drug offences but he failed to show up to serve his sentence.

Body-worn camera footage shows armed police accosting Chen, who reported goes by the nickname ‘Cockroach’, as he tries to reverse and escape.
The officers manage to jump out the way before unleashing a hail of bullets at Chen’s car, firing off 15 rounds before the drug trafficker gives up.
In the video, officers shout “show me your hands!” and “get out of the car!” as they arrest Chen.

Fongshan Precinct said officers confiscated two pistols and 73 bullets from Chen. Methamphetamine and 51,700 TWD (1,500 GBP) in cash were also seized.
Three other suspects surnamed Tseng, Wu and Su – 50, 55, and 40 – were arrested in connection with Chen’s activities in the days following, the police added.
Further investigation is ongoing, with Chen expected to be charged with firearm possession and evading arrest.
