The hitman appears to shoot the victim, who has not been named in reports, in the back and he falls to the ground.

Another gunman seems to approach the victim’s limp body from the road and fires at least one shot from close range.

The pair then flee the scene with guns in their hands.

According to local media, the two gunmen also killed a taxi driver while escaping.

Both suspects, who have not been named, were reportedly arrested by military personnel patrolling the area in an attempt by the authorities to curb organised crime.

According to the authorities, several criminal groups are fighting over territory in the state of Guerrero.

They have been identified as the Jalisco New Generation Cartel who are reportedly in alliance with a gang called La Familia Michoacana.

Meanwhile, rival groups the Guerreros Unidos (United Warriors), Los Rojos (The Reds), Los Ardillos (The Squirrels) and the Independent Cartel of Acapulco are also operating in the Mexican state, according to reports.

It has not yet been mentioned who the two gunmen were working for and no motive has been provided for the crime.

The investigation continues and it is unclear if the suspects have been charged.
