This is the moment Mexican cops bust open a refrigerated lorry with a Danone logo on it and find dozens of migrants inside reportedly trying to reach the United States.

Members of the federal police seized the lorry containing 58 migrants in the municipality of Moloacan, in the eastern Mexican state of Veracruz on the Coatzacoalcos-Villahermosa road.

Local media report the officers stopped the lorry in order to check it, but it is not clear if it was a routine check.

In the video, officers can be seen opening the back door of the container which has dozens of migrants sitting and standing inside.

Some of the migrants reportedly claimed they were starting to suffer from a lack of oxygen and had warned the driver about the situation but he did not stop the vehicle.

The migrants said they had been in the lorry for two days, starting in Chiapas and ending in Reynosa, in Tamaulipas in northern Mexico.

Local media report most of the migrants are from Guatemala. There were 45 men and 13 women. Eighteen of the 58 migrants were reportedly minors.

The driver and his co-driver were reportedly arrested.

Members of the Red Cross reportedly attended the migrants who had health issues.

Danone Mexico denied the lorry belonging to the company and claimed that it was using a fake logo. They said they have filed a criminal complaint about the incident.

The migrants were taken to a migrant centre in the city of Veracruz after being attended. They were reportedly trying to reach the United States.
